Education
The education system in Switzerland is very diverse because the constitution of Switzerland delegates the authority for the school system mainly to the cantons. The country has a wide variety of schools ranging from public, private, bilingual to international schools, the education standards are extremely high.
The structure of Switzerland’s system begins with primary education (a sort of kindergarten), then a lower secondary education followed by an upper secondary education, which may even include vocational training. The highest level, tertiary level education, is university level or higher education.
In 2018, Switzerland ranked #28 in the PISA worldwide tests, measuring 15-year-old school students’ scholastic performance on mathematics, science, and reading.
